Thesis Statements

Suggested Research Topic:

Trade Liberalization and its Implications on Brazil Coffee Trade Workers / Farmers

Thesis Statements:

1.    Income inequality present among Brazilian coffee workers is a result of trade liberalization.

2.    Because liberalization caused a decline of world prices of Brazil’s major crops, the number of unemployed coffee workers in Brazil increased.

3.    Because of the difficulty in accessing the market and obtaining fair prices for their crops, poor Brazil farmers / workers do not participate in coffee trade anymore.

4.    Trade liberalization in Brazil should be discontinued because it only benefits rich farmers and causes poor farmers to become poorer.

5.    Because of the need to constantly produce a lot of products in order to fare well, trade liberalization also have harmful implications on Brazil’s natural environment.
